Your Joy Matters

Filed in Authentic Living — March 11, 2025

Hi Friend,

This past week Bryce was traveling which means…

I GET TO WATCH WHATEVER I WANT hehehehe

And look, I’m not saying that we don’t decide what to watch together. We both enjoy White Lotus, 1923, and lately (and I know we’re late to the game) Yellojackets. But, when I was telling my friend that Bryce would be traveling, the first thing she said was:

“Which Rom-Coms are you going ot watch?” and we died laughing.

She knows me well.I love to curl up on my couch with a heavy blanket, my dogs, and most importantly, no commentary on my rom-com. I wish to dive in deep into the love stories, laugh, cry, and not care if the plot is set in reality or not. I want to be swept away and assured that there will be a happy ending.

So, I’ve found myself watching the new Bridget Jones, that new Kate Hudson show on Netflix (not a rom-com but cute), and Meghan Markle’s cooking show. Well, not Markle anymore but I feel like if I say “The Duchess of Sussex” only a handful of people will know who I’m talking about.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all three. I know that people love to hate Meghan Markle for some reason but this woman is literally in her joy. It might not be the most inventive show or craziest recipes a la Martha Stewart, but it is heart felt. She says so many times “this brings me so much joy” and I believe she has hit the nail on the head. In fact, I have it on in the background as I’m writing this post. And yes, have I giggled at the reels on Instagram where they are pretending to be her and labeling literally everything with a little brown tag? Absolutely. But, I am thoroughly enjoying how light-hearted this show is.

I think we often get so caught up in our daily routines, our to-do lists, etc. that we are forgetting to prioritize those little things. Joy doesn’t have to be a huge event. It can be in the quiet moments we have with our coffee in the morning (this is me), a rom-com that you’ve watched 100 times (you’ve got mail, probably), eating the skinny part of the salmon that’s extra crunchy after you bake it.

It’s anything that lights you up. So, this is your reminder to prioritize your joy today. Make sure to take time to feel it when you do. Really let yourself be in that moment and capture every part of it.

Extra credit if you journal about 3 things that brought you joy before you go to bed tonight. Why is that important? When we focus on the good, we attract more good. It’s that simple.

I hope you find all the joy you deserve this week (aka a lot).

With so much love & a little humor,

Mary

P.S. Stay tuned for something launching this Friday! If you have been wanting to learn more about Human Design and how to live a life that feels good on a soul level BUT aren’t quite ready to do a reading, what’s coming Friday is for you.
